Meet Damian Murray

Damian Murray is an investor and strategist with global experience across venture capital, finance, and technology. He is now an Investor at Level Up Ventures, backing founders who have historically lacked access to funding at the pre-seed and seed stages. Previously, he worked at Volvo Cars as an Investment Associate with the Tech Fund, a Pension Fund Analyst, and a contributor to strategic projects across the company.

Level Up Ventures is a corporate venture arm of the Hearst Corporation, launched in 2021 to invest in exceptional entrepreneurs who have experienced barriers to accessing capital, closing the wealth gap. Beyond funding, we offer hands-on support and leverage the Level Up Scout network, professionals across Hearst’s businesses who provide mentorship, strategic insights, and key resources.

Meet Derrick Maultsby, Jr.

Derrick Maultsby, Jr. is a Managing Associate practicing with FBT Gibbon’s Venture Practice Group, Data Digital Assets and Technology Practice Group, and Corporate Law Practice Group. He serves as a business advisor and corporate transactional lawyer to venture backed startups, venture capital funds, private equity funds, small to mid-sized businesses, and Fortune 500 companies. His clients range across multiple sectors including technology, commercial retail, restaurant groups, real estate development, financial institutions, private equity, venture capital, non-profits, and sports & entertainment.

Who should attend?

Outside In is an event that primary helps founders and adjacent professionals with learning through a casual presentation and networking with investors. All are welcome who are looking to grow and make connections.

What time should I arrive?

The doors will open at 5:30 PM. If you'd like to grab a great seat for our presentation, please plan on arriving by 6:15 PM.

Where is this held? Is there parking?

The event takes place at TechForge in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. The address is: 113 47th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201. You will find limited free parking in the front of the building and behind it.

Please enter from the front. You will be directed to the second floor for registration.

 

What is the dress code?

This is a business casual networking event. 

Is there a cost?

No! Innovation Works and its generous sponsors have this covered. In addition, we'll provide light appetizers and drinks to enjoy during this event.

Can I bring a plus one to the event?

Yes, your friend and colleagues are welcome to attend. Please register each attendee individually.
